Cooling down

We've gotten used to being back in the old school/work routine again this week, and realising with a shock that Autumn is definitely on its way now..cold mornings, heaters turned on and electric red, orange and yellow foliage everywhere.

We had more time with E & A during the school holidays - including a lovely day here when all the delights of our hill over the road were on show...

The small mob of resident kangaroos...

Smooth spotted gums to climb...

Jokes to laugh at, birds to observe, a treehouse to climb and Sophie the sausage dog to giggle over.......

Ella puts in hours crafting with me - she's learning to knit and has made some beautiful DIY video clips demonstrating some of her unique rainbow band designs. She keeps checking whether I have posted them on Youtube yet!

She continues to develop her strength and flexibility. That foot is perfectly capable of reaching her head in the pic below. Granny just isn't coordinated enough to click the shutter at the right moment!

It's easier to catch her doing the splits.

Joshy roasted chickens on the bar-b-que tonight for dinner. Abi LOVES "chickney" - she eats her plateful and then comes and sits with Grandpa and raids his plate - eating like "Henry the 8th" according to Ella - who knows all about it from watching "Horrible Histories".
