LZACS visit

With Granny Bobbie (GG) here it was a great excuse for the Sydney LZACS to visit Canberra, to see her and catch up with their Canberra cousins.

There aren't too many opportunities for taking a pic of this side of the family all together - this was my best effort (but minus A and S unfortunately!)
We enjoyed lunch together on Saturday, at Saint Germain (in Campbell, not Paris) and our Hassett Park proved to be a great venue for some fun and games after.

I think baby Leo has won his cousin's heart or maybe it's the other way around?

For some reason the kids called this their Steve Urkel dance (have they even watched that old sitcom Family Matters???)

We were all up early on Sunday morning - for breakfast together at the QT Hotel at New Acton - which was perfectly placed for a walk to the lake after (on a breezy cool Canberra morning).

Baby Leo wins hearts wherever he goes!
I like this pic below - but pity about the WC backdrop!

It's a huge effort for a busy family with 3 young ones to get away for a weekend - so glad the LZACS made it!!

Saturday

Lovely to see the kids here at Saint Germain (in Campbell, not Paris) today for lunch and a play in the park afterwards........

Ella, Jody & Josh played their first game of Boule on the front lawn (Joshy won much to Ella's disgust).

While Abi decided to display her prowess on the fitness equipment ......

.. which really impressed Grannie Bobbie .....

Floriade

We visited Floriade for a second time this week - a perfect outing with Grannie Bobbie who is visiting us from Brisbane.

We all know Floriade is a bit naff, but there is nothing quite like the sight of thousands of iridescent coloured tulips jousting for attention under our sunny, bright blue Canberra skies.

Floriade is only a short walk around the lake for us - and so easy then to head to our local, The Pedlar, for a delicious lunch.

End of holidays

With two long weekends in Coogee, these school holidays passed in a flash for A & E. Another 10 weeks of school ahead, warmer weather, back to swimming classes and gymnastic and counting down to Christmas and another New Year break in Bali......... Abi is already working out how her darling Sniffy will fit in her hand luggage!

Ella scored her summer sunglasses on a shopping expedition to Bondi Westfield during their holiday break. But were they a need or a want??

This beautiful meal last night was in honour of my birthday. Very lucky me!

Birthday BBQ

Rob and his mate David hosted "a big Aussie Barbie" this morning to raise money for prostate cancer research (the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Aussie men!). They hosted 24 of our friends for a slap up bar -b-que breakfast in prefect Spring weather in David and Irene's back garden, and raised well over $800 for this great cause in the process. Fantastic work!

It also happened to be my birthday today (and Colleen's too - another guest). Irene surprised us with a birthday cake each and a celebratory bottle of champagne.  A beautiful day, in the company of good friends, yummy chocolate cake and two glasses of champagne before 1.00pm - birthdays don't getter much better than that!

Spring is busting out all over here in Campbell. The pic below (view from our winter garden) was taken on the 19th September......
and this one was taken a week later on the 26th ..........
And this one below was taken on the 30th - what a transformation in just over a week!!
