We travelled a long way today, from Mumbai to Cochin - a distance of over 1,500klms - that's taken us to southern India and the capital of the state of Kerala on India's tropical Malabar coast.
We found the IndiGo budget airline flight perfectly ok, but the hour and a half drive from Cochin airport to the Taj Malabar here on the port area of Cochin was completely devoid of charm - and not terribly comfortable either granted the age and condition of our transport (I am sure Mr Singh will be on to that!)
When we eventually got here, early evening, our Taj Malaba Hotel was very welcoming and our room has fabulous views out to where the Arabian Sea meets the Lake Of Cochi.
...and the hotel's restaurant is just as good as at the Taj in Mumbai (maybe even better????) The regional dishes from Kerala we ate tonight were wonderful!!
