Easter Sunday in Sandbach

This has been England's warmest Easter in 60 years. For us this Easter Sunday has been an opportunity for a family day in Sandbach, made all the more enjoyable by the arrival of Cath, Davey and Eddie the previous night.

It started with great excitement for the big boys with Mal allowing rides in his beautifully restored Triumph TR4 - the ultimate pin up car. The Jodrell Bank radio telescope is quite close to Sandbach and was a great focus point for the boys' own adventure in the TR4.

Davey was actually allowed to drive the TR4 this morning, a first for him.

There was lots of time for everyone to be entertained by Eddie. I am amazed at the level of his focus on books. Davey reads all the text (adding lots of bits); Eddie follows it all avidly! We'd bought him this book from the Science Museum for Easter and Davey quite enjoys reading it himself, luckily.

It proved to be a Bond's singlet kind of day.

We walked to the township later in the afternoon, stopping to admire the daffodils and forget me knots growing wild beside the walking path through the woods. The village centre is very picturesque with its older timber frame buildings and Victorian era terraces. These Saxon pillars are over 1,000 years old.

This was our pub of choice for pre dinner drink, the Lower Chequer.

Another situation for some blokes' babysitting.

Eddie was in a beautiful mood after his bath.

While Eddie did some more reading Rob watched Mal cook the lamb tagine in the Cobb outdoor bar-b-que. Summer temperatures, barbies, fast cars and slow time with family; that was our memorable Easter Sunday.
